This is the little brother to the great classic. You get American made Ka-Bar quality, same stacked leather oval grip and steel pommel- just a little smaller. This would be a great knife for smaller hands.
I found this version a little easier to use in daily construction projects and not as obvious or bulky if you want to carry on your belt in general public. And it stays sharp- that’s kind of useful for knife.
There’s no shortage of accessories with the Short Ka-Bar. You can get the traditional brown leather Ka-bar sheath (or black,) or you can try their Kydex plastic which I have come to enjoy. It has little studs that hold the guard in place for a bit of security if you haven’t snapped the strap over it- this is handy if your task has you alternating between using both hands and pulling your blade.
Addendum- KnifeWife says it feels like a toy. In all fairness, she was just checking out my Cold Steel SRK and had reiterated on how much she liked the Buck Vanguard 692.
